MADEIRA MANDOLIN ORCHESTRA LIGHT CLASSICS - CD


This is the last CD issued by the Madeira Mandolin Orchestra. It was released on February 18th 2009, by the occasion of 96th anniversary of Recreio Musical União da Mocidade, the association this magnificent orchestra belongs to.

NEAPOLITAN SONGS - MADEIRA MANDOLIN ORCHESTRA - DVD


“Neapolitan Songs – Madeira Mandolin Orchestra” is the second DVD released by this orchestra, the most important musical group of its kind in Madeira Island.


This DVD was recorded live at Teatro Municipal do Funchal on July 3rd 2007 and was released in Frebruary 2008, by the occasion of the 95th anniversary of this musical group. In it one can see the acclaimed Portuguese Tenor CARLOS GUILHERME interpreting a fine selection of world famous Neapolitan Songs, accompanied by the Madeira Mandolin Orchestra. The musical orchestrations for this repertoire did not exist and Eurico Martins, the Artistic Director of the Madeira Mandolin Orchestra made them all, and the final result is simply outstanding. Plus, each Neapolitan Song is preceded with some information about it, provided by the Tenor, in Portuguese but there are English subtitles available on this DVD. It also contains an interview with the Tenor CARLOS GUILHERME, in which he explains how he came across this fabulous mandolin orchestra and how he thought it was just perfect to accompany Neapolitan Songs, among other interesting things.

This DVD is recorded on PAL System and Region 0 (which enables it to be watched worldwide)

MANDOLIN ORCHESTRA - MADEIRA ISLAND - DVD


“Mandolin Orchestra – Madeira Island” is the first DVD released by the Madeira Mandolin Orchestra, the most important musical group of its kind in Madeira Island.


This DVD was recorded live at Teatro Municipal do Funchal on February 18th 2004, by the occasion of commemorative concert of the 85th anniversary of the association the orchestra belongs to, and was released in June of the same year. This DVD is recorded on PAL System and Region 0 (which enables it to be watched worldwide)
