NEAPOLITAN SONGS - CD


“Neapolitan Songs” is the fourth and last CD released by the Madeira Mandolin Orchestra, the most important musical group of its kind in Madeira Island.

This CD was released in October 2008, and contains the same repertoire that was presented at the concert held on July 3rd 2007 at Teatro Municipal do Funchal, where the acclaimed Portuguese Tenor CARLOS GUILHERME interpreted a wonderful selection of world famous Neapolitan Songs, accompanied by the Madeira Mandolin Orchestra.

It contains 13 musical themes as listed below:

The CD case also contains a 16 page booklet with several with several bilingual data (English/Portuguese) about the Tenor CARLOS GUILHERME, the Madeira Mandolin Orchestra and its Artistic Director. It also presents the lyrics of all the Neapolitan Songs interpreted by the Tenor, the picture of every single member of this orchestra and the instrument they played, a magnificent two-page photo of the entire musical group taken by the occasion of its 95th anniversary, and last but not least a picture of the Madeira Mandolin Orchestra on the stage of the beautiful Teatro Municipal do Funchal during the magnificent concert held on July 3rd 2007.
